Access to healthcare is hard out here. For many at Solevu in the Mamanuca Islands, this is the only medical treatment they receive all year.
A HUGE vinaka to the incredible Fiji DMF volunteers. These doctors, dentists, nurses and helpers dedicate their time, skills and dollars to treat Mololo locals every year.
The Fiji Dental and Medical Foundation (Fiji DMF) was created in 2013 to provide dental and medical services to the people of the Mamanuca Island chain in Fiji. As frequent visitors to Fiji, the founders of Fiji DMF became familiar with the beauty of the islands and the warm, welcoming nature of the people.
Driven by a determination to give back in a meaningful way, and cognisant that even routine medical care is an area of need, Fiji DMF was born. Not just dental, the Fiji DMF provides blood pressure and glucose checks, eyeglasses as well as education and of course free toothbrushes! Educating the next generation and treating kids for over the past decade has delivered meaningful change. This program really works. It’s obvious when looking at the children who’ve grown up in that time – you can see the results in their smile.

It’s an impressive achievement. That said, a huge amount of planning, preparation and dollars goes into it. If you can help, please do either through donating directly to Fiji DMF or simply by adding a donation at checkout on Namotu.
Thank you to Jason Acott (photographer), the other sponsors below and of course a massive thank you to our staff for their help as always, the Fiji DMF volunteers and Solevu Village. Vinaka to you all and see you next year!
